This time around, one of the shipments included a Chevrolet Corvette 2025 from Houston, Texas to Leroy, Alabama via the Enclosed Trailer transport service. This is one vehicle that travelled for 545 miles to get to its destination at a cost of $1,209.00, equivalent to $2.22 per mile.
The Corvette was shipped in its running condition, which means that it could start, run, and drive on its own upon pick-up. Moreover, this particular shipment was done at a reduced cost since the customer who ordered this shipment has shipped his/her cars with us previously.

The Route

The Houston to Leroy route is 545 miles long and stretches eastwards from Houston to Leroy along the Gulf Coast. The carriers departing from Houston travel eastwards along Interstate 10 to Beaumont and then into Louisiana through Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
From there, they move eastwards in Mississippi along the coast through Gulfport and Biloxi until they reach Alabama. They then move away from Interstate 10 and head north to Leroy via US-43.

Why the C8’s Mid-Engine Design Still Needs Careful Loading

The 2025 Corvette utilizes the C8 chassis, where the placement of the engine was relocated from the front of the vehicle to mid-engine. It changed the proportion of the car, but it didn’t help to deal with another problem – low front clearance of the Corvette that has been following through generations of the car. To the contrary, the front splitter on the C8 Corvette is at the same level of proximity to the ground as on the C5, C6 and C7 models described above.

When a C8 is transported by carriers, the approach ramp technique is used which consists in positioning of short ramps in front of the main ramps in order to lower the loading angle from 14 to 18 degrees to 6 to 10 degrees. In addition, there is always a spotter that directs the car up slowly and monitors its front part.

Enclosed Transport

The Corvette that needs to be shipped in the year 2025 will definitely be a very good example of the shipment where enclosed transport is worth the cost paid for the service. The benefit here is that the enclosed trailer will ensure that the vehicle remains protected from debris, the weather, and the general wear that occurs due to being transported on an open carrier.
In the case of our Corvette, the straps for tying down the wheels were used instead of the chain tied to the frame.
A Discount for a Returning Customer
The reduced rate was offered due to the fact that the customer had used our services previously. Our customers get the benefit of discounted rates each time they ship something. The reason for this is that we believe that returning customers should be rewarded with a better deal the next time around.
