The Triumph Speed Twin 1200 is an example of a motorbike that has the look and design of classic British bikes along with great performance features. The classic design makes it easy for the owner to take good care of the motorbike.
In case when the bike had to be transported across the country, it was decided to do it using enclosed transportation. The year of manufacture of the 2027 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 was set to be delivered for approximately 2,501 miles from New Milford, Connecticut to Cave Creek, Arizona.
It is a long way to cover without shipping the bike.
The Route
This shipment originated in New Milford, CT 06776, in western Connecticut, and finished in Cave Creek, AZ 85331, located just north of Phoenix, Arizona. This is about 2,501 miles, which would make for an extensive cross-country motorcycle shipping process.
Traveling this far on your own would likely take days, depending on the path taken, the weather, and other variables. A motorcycle shipping service will be more convenient for those wanting their bike shipped to them rather than completing the trip themselves.
A motorcycle shipping project like this one also requires planning. Logistics involving pickup and delivery access, availability, scheduling, and securing the motorcycle will all need to be taken care of before the motorcycle shipping process starts.
What Makes Careful Handling Important?
What sets the Speed Twin 1200 apart is its unique blend of classic design and modern parts. The fuel tank, side panels, exhaust, mirrors, wheels, and general appearance of the motorcycle should be taken into account in its preparation for transportation.
A motorbike requires a specific way of securing. The vehicle should stay vertical and stable during transportation, with appropriate restraining devices and tie-downs used in order to minimize unnecessary movement.
The following measures may be taken prior to the pick-up of the motorcycle:
Photograph the motorcycle. Take pictures of the tank, side panels, wheels, mirrors, exhaust, and other visible areas.
- Mention modifications. Aftermarket mirrors, exhaust systems, luggage, or other accessories may affect handling and securement.
- Remove loose accessories. Follow the carrier’s instructions for detachable items and personal belongings.
- Discuss securement. Confirm that the carrier has suitable motorcycle equipment and understands any special handling concerns.
The aim of doing so is to ensure that the carrier knows what it is shipping and has the proper equipment set up prior to coming to pick up the freight. This becomes especially true in the case of a newly acquired motorcycle.
Enclosed Transport
For this cross-country motorcycle delivery, the option of enclosed motorcycle transport has been considered to ensure that the motorcycle remains under cover during the entire transit period.
The enclosed trailer will help in protecting the Triumph motorcycle from direct contact with the rain, road spray, dirt, and road debris. Enclosed motorcycle transport may have some advantages over open transport, particularly in cases where a new motorcycle needs to be shipped and its condition preserved during the process.
Enclosed transportation will keep the motorcycle hidden from public view during transit. But an enclosed trailer is not the only equipment that needs to be considered. The carrier will need the proper equipment for loading and securing the motorcycle.
Enclosed motorcycle transportation is usually more expensive than open motorcycle transport, but it can also be considered by motorcycle owners.
