Major Routes
The main routes are usually assigned single or double-digit numbers, and most numbers from 1 to 50 follow a typical geographic pattern established in 1927. Interstate 76.

Ocean County also has a system of minor county routes with numbers from 3 to 111 and roads starting at 600.
